This conversion kit allows you to replace your IBM Model M's original internal controller board with a modern USB board. This aims to match the footprint of the original controller and plugs into the original keyboard matrix, but exposes a USB port through the original SDL connector.

Thanks to QMK, the keyboard is fully programmable. It ships with a DFU-style bootloader, which can be programmed over USB.

Model H in a Model M 101

Great product! Very easy to install. If using QMK firmware & QMK toolbox to customize, toggle the auto-flash checkbox and plug in the keyboard via USB. The modelH runs the bootloader for a second or two after connecting, so firmware updates are super easy. I may pick up another one for my M 122.

New Life to Old Keyboards

The Model H USB Controller is excellent. Fits perfectly into the space the old controller occupied and gave new life to my 30+ year old keyboards. They have another 30 years left in them with this upgrade.

Purchased 3 and 2 of them worked

Bought 3 of them, 1 of them doesn’t work. The two that do work, work amazing, plug and play with no issues what so ever. Highly recommended. I’m glad to have found a solution.

Super happy with this product, buy a few just incase you get a bad one.

Worked great, no firmware or software updates needed.

I'm using a mac pro 3,1 and 5,1 which can fail to boot if the USB device is not compatible. The model H works flawlessly as replacement for the old PS/2 connection.
