The Mikoto is a Pro Micro and nice!nano alternative drop-in replacement board that makes building wireless keyboards a breeze.

Built using power-conscious design and parts, the Mikoto stretches battery life to its limits.

The recommended Lipo battery for use with the Mikoto controller is the 351230 3.7v 120mAh (Australia shipping only)

  • Mid mount USB-C port making the board thinner than a Pro Micro
  • nRF52840 chip on board with 1MB of Flash and 256KB of RAM
  • Adafruit Bootloader loaded offering DFU flashing as well as flashing via UF2 storage (similar to dragging a file to a flash drive!)
  • Programmable indicator (blue) LED as well as a charging indicator (orange) LED
  • Battery voltage reader to report battery percentage to main device software
  • Controllable battery charge current (off, ~100mA, ~250mA, ~350mA)
  • ESD protection on USB lines, and 500mA fuse protection for VBUS and EXT_5V
  • "Bidirectional" power over EXT_5V
  • 32.768 kHz oscillator on board for real-time clock capabilities
  • Clean design with matte black solder mask, immersion gold plating, and Tg 170 FR4 for durability

First Build - difficult but good kit

Took me over 10h to complete, and then 3 hours resoldering and debugging the displays not working. But the issue's were all caused by my inexperience. (and the precompiled Mikoto controller firmware not working for the displays.)

It's now fully functional, and I'm very happy with it. I do wish I'd gotten the hot-swappable display adapters though.
