super silent, incredibly comfortable

(keyboard : ZSA Voyager)

I was using Khail pink chocs as Iove the MX Silent Pinks, but the keys were still extremely noisy, with a lot of plastic on plastic clicking happening. Typing felt a bit lose too.

The ambient silent linear nocturnals fulfill all the expectations I had from the pinks : EXTREMELY quiet ... so much so that, even using the keyboard and knowing when a key is pressed, I barely hear anything except for the occasional very satisfying chonk, and the tactile feedback (on linears!) is amazing!

You really need these switches if you want *really* quiet and comfortable linear chocs with low weight and travel! I seriously don't know how they could be better.

PSA : you'll need 6 "boxes" to replace all switches on a Voyager.

Great if you want to type "lighter"

I was a Red Pro fan...but then I found the Purpz (and the very similar Pinks and Blues) with even lighter activation force and fell for them on my Glove80.

Then I found these.

They are undoubtedly much, much quieter than any of the above. If that's a primary thing for you and you like a light keyswitch, stop reading now and buy them.

Feel-wise, the are almost as light as Purpz. Ok, for for "pure typing pleasure" I still kind of like the Purpz the most a bit. I admit I like sometimes the feeling of jamming away and bottoming out a bunch as I slam another Unix command. I kind of like the clatter and supremely light feel.

I think the slight shock absorption on these Nocturnals means these discourage you from bottoming out. They make you want to type lightly. And that's probably kind of a good ergonomic thing.

Also they're not QUITE as light as Purpz / Pinks / Blues...but that's kind of a good thing esp in the beginning because I accidentally hit keys on Purpz a lot the first few weeks.

Best light low-profile switch

They are quiet, light, and they feel great to type on. If you want a light low-profile switch, this is the switch to get.

Best linear Choc switches on the market

They’re so quiet and it feels like typing on bubbles. It’s so comfortable. If you want linear Chocs there’s no reason to get pinks over the nocturnals.
