The low profile keyboard market asked for it, and now they are here! The first, purpose-built from the ground up, silent low profile keyboard switches are finally available! LowproKB is proud to announce the new Ambients line of silent choc switches, which will transform your rig into an office-friendly tool, or a late-night warrior's weapon. Designed in partnership with Kailh engineers, the Ambients line of switches will work on any keyboard that is Choc V1 compatible. Yes you read that right, both the keycap interface and the PCB footprint remain unchanged from earlier Choc V1 switches, so your existing keyboard can use these new switches.
The Ambients are based on the original Kailh Choc V1 switch, but are a completely new design, having all their parts redesigned to accommodate the new components required to quieten the typical switch noise. Silicone bumpers have been strategically placed within the new design to buffer both the down and the up stroke of a keypress, all while not creating a mushy feeling while typing.

I have the Voyager keyboard with the Kailh Choc Red switches, and was totally content with them, until I had to do a couple of months in an office. Day one I noticed that my keyboard was the loudest in the office. So I started looking at other switches. I reached out to ZSA, and they recommended that I look at the Choc Keycap Spacer (also sold on this site), or these Ambients Silent Linear Twilight Choc switches. I decided to start with trying the Spacers, and yes they did make a difference, but it only really changed the taping sound from a clicky tap to a dulled tap, but still very lound. I then ordered these "Ambients Silent Linear Twilight Choc Switches". I changed over just one side of the keyboard, and did a test type. WOW the sound difference is night and day. I now wish that ZSA had these switches as a default option. The difference in feel I find is neglible, and there has been no noticable change to either my speed or accuracy. I was considering trying the Ambients Silent Linear Nocturnal Choc switches, but the 20g Actuation made me a little worried that they would be too light. Based on these Twilight switches, I definitely made the right choice. Yes they are lighter than the Choc Red's but aren't too light (If you have them side by side yes you can feel the difference, but once you change out the whole keyboard you can't tell, your more focused on how quiet they are, and they do feel really good). As Goldilocks said "These are just right." :-)
Amazing swirches! Best i owned
These are totally amazing!!! Soft, ultra smooth glide, silent, smooth graduation from top to bottom of the keystroke, and such a physical relief to type with as far as reducing finger impact fatigue. Highly recommend.
They really are. Unfortunately, I've realized linear switches make me mistype much more than tactile. Switched to Sunsets, but I keep these for another time.
Was disappointed with the original low profile choc red switches that came with my board. Thought maybe I just didn't like low profile boards. These are a game changer. Love my board now.
