from 194 reviewsReally great switches! No issues at all
DDCs are so much more natural than the MBKs I had before. They’re a bit tight on the switches, but how often are you really swapping your Choc keycaps anyway? Only thing to bear in mind is that, with how tight they fit, if your switches are soldered in then you may risk breaking the joints when removing the keycaps. But for how much of an improvement these are for comfort, it’s worth it.
Note that they are not vertically symmetrical - there is a correct orientation. The bottom edge of the keycap has a slightly longer slope.
They’re so quiet and it feels like typing on bubbles. It’s so comfortable. If you want linear Chocs there’s no reason to get pinks over the nocturnals.
Fits like a glove and the shipping was fast. No problems whatsoever. Will continue to order from these guys.
Aside of the bent pins on one of the TRRS jacks everything came in good shape.
Soldering these was a bit tricky and took a lot of time(first time working with SMD components) but eventually everything worked.
These switches have a medium weight but feel very snappy, the P-shaped bump feels very satisfying. Factory lubing is good and feels very smooth and no pins were bent during shipping.
Was hard to find someplace have stock, nano!view working fine, almost lost because of mail service fortunately I reached them at post office. Will be good have more options to ship to decrease waiting time. Experience to buy easy , tracker for you order is fine; prices well to something hard to find. I'm happy and enjoy my complete keyboard.
This was my first ever build and this kit was a great starting point. Everything came packaged well and separated logically. It made it easy to find what I needed as I needed it. The clear acrylic plates and PCB are well made. 10/10 would order again. Thank you!
The mapping key process is ver simple. I used the online QMK configurator (selecting ibm/ibm_m/modelh) to generate the firmware. I used the QMK toolkit to flush it. First make sure auto flash is selected in QMK toolkit, then unplug the keyboard, press and hold esc key, plug in the keyboard. That it is, fool proof.
Fits well into the PCB. If using de-soldered PCB, make sure to clean the holes well as they won't fit otherwise. Easy to solder.
First time properly building a keyboard, can definitely it was a lot of fun.
The build guide is pretty minimal - so it took me a bit to figure out how to solder the hotswap sockets (since I've never used them before), but I eventually figured it out. I do wish an extra socket was included, since they're pretty fragile and I accidentally broke one [but was able to just solder the switch directly].
I went with a SuperMini nRF52840 (from a different vendor) and the flashing was pretty straightforward - I just downloaded a .uf2 file from the zmk-ardux repository, pressed reset twice on the board and simply dragged the .uf2 file to the newly mounted drive. Ended up also porting the new ARTSEY layout as well. I do also want to mention that if you want add a battery, make sure it is small enough to fit between the PCB and the plate - but also consider that the hotswap sockets will take up 1-2mm of the free space (vertically).
Would recommend!
Really nice, solid keyboards that are easy to build and look great. Definitely designed for larger hands, my average sized hands have trouble with the thumb cluster. If you've small/medium hands probably best to look elsewhere, otherwise recommended on build quality!
Faultless, high quality. Suit my preferences well.
Works as expected, recommended. Be sure to compile as .uf2 file
