Let customers speak for us
from 253 reviewsGreat keyboard came with a case and works perfect, it has frimware already loaded so works out of the box, just needs switches and keycaps
Great product! Very easy to install. If using QMK firmware & QMK toolbox to customize, toggle the auto-flash checkbox and plug in the keyboard via USB. The modelH runs the bootloader for a second or two after connecting, so firmware updates are super easy. I may pick up another one for my M 122.
Great switch. Very smooth and quiet.
Enough cupping but not too much. I like the subtle ridge on the guide keys.
Product page and site are very good at making sure you get everything you need.
Make sure to pay attention to controller positioning during assembly. Instructions are a bit vague, but the silkscreen printing on the board specifies correct position.
First time I did SMD soldering and everything turned out great.
I recommend rp2040 controllers qnd qmk for first timers.
Quick delivery, quality Contra pcb kit arrived in about 9 days from ordering . Pleasantly surprised at how quickly it was delivered. Making Raspberry Pi Portable PI 80.
Typing with my sofle choc now! This is my first split kb and first build. I have some electrical engineering background so soldering went really smoothly. A couple little little easily-fixable soldering mistakes. On a standard keyboard I can get about 110 wpm. After a few days, I was crossing the 80 threshold on this! A few days later averaging around 85wpm.
I bought the Helios rp2040 uC, and have been using custom qmk code/build. However, compiling code yourself isn't needed, because Keebd very nicely supplies pre-built binaries for this board which is the easiest way to get up and running (How To Guides > Firmware Files). In my custom firmware I've implemented (copied someone else's code) Windows and Mac mode, so I can use one key combination for undo, cut, copy, paste, home, end, next word, prev word. Depending on the current mode it'll send the right key codes to the OS. It's going to be a game changer for someone who regularly switches between Linux, Mac and Windows!
Remember: under-key RGB LEDs don't come with the kit, probably because it's not a necessity. However, I skipped over this detail and had to wait another week to get my LEDs in. Also female pin standoffs don't come in the kit for the microcontroller or the OLED. Remember to buy those if you want it hot-swappable.
I'm not currently using the acrylic base plate, because I like the minimal low profile of the kb. The short TRRS cable that comes with the kit is super nice and high quality! I just wish it was a foot longer so I could separate my halves to shoulder-width.
I bought MBK Glow R2 keycaps and am using Choc Silver switches. So far the combo is nice, but I actually would like a slightly louder keyboard. In a quiet room, it's still got a pretty satisfying sound however. Silvers are pretty lightweight, so sometimes I mistype when I didn't even think I pressed the key down, but this will get better as I learn.

There's not a lot of range in the chocs, but these go nicely.
Thank you so very much for your honestly incredible service.
The kit arrived in perfect condition, and with all parts, +2 extra diodes, which ended up being a blessing, broke a diode in half, I'm assuming, thanks to the fact I got the iron too close to it while installing the hot-swap sockets, the kit can't solder itself for you, but for everything else, it was great.
No complains from me, works very well, forgot to buy the pins, but the diode legs saved my build.
On choc land I tried robins, whites and pinks, always liked the whites more so when I got into assembling my own split keyboards I bought a lot of white switches, thinking they'd be my endgame.
Well, these LowproKB custom made switches are a cut above the others, much more pleasant to type and converted me from clicky to linears (for now hehe).
Hopefully the already existing creations stay for sale for long (thanks keebd for making them available in AU) and hopefully newer creations also happen in the future as well. They are a bit more expensive but I think they're well worth their prices.
AMAZING I LIKE MILK
While I have a trusted soldering station at home, being able to take a small package with me to solder on the go, with a powerbank is so convenient. I fly drones that I've built myself, and sometimes wire tear/ break/ needs replacing when out in the field. Now I have a chance to continue flying after a bad crash, should I need to replace a wire or electronics components
Pretty robust tilters with not too much of a jiggle when inserted. Maybe i needed for the top row of my corne a tilted set with half the tilt angle than the bottom row. Feel easier to close the hand and press than to extend and press so probably half the angle would give faster typing. Maybe i need to get used to it and strengthen my fingers. Also maybe a corner tilt for my exterior keys would be a good idea. Overall great product quality. Congrats
